Engagement Season is among us!

Congratulations to all of the newly engaged couples out there!

With 40% of couples getting engaged between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day, I think it’s a great time to chat about what comes next! If you recently said “yes,” congratulations! Now, you might be wondering: what comes next?

First, Enjoy it! People are going to be asking you a lot of questions, like “when are you getting married?” and “where are you getting married?” It’s ok to not have an answer just yet and let them know, you’re enjoying being engaged and will share details soon. This is your time to celebrate, soak in the excitement, and enjoy sharing the news with loved ones.

The First Steps in Wedding Planning

Once you’re ready to start planning, begin by focusing on two key factors:

  1. Your Guest List – Who do you envision celebrating with you on your big day?

  2. Your Budget – What investment are you comfortable making for your wedding?

These two decisions will help guide everything else, from choosing a venue to selecting your catering and curating the overall guest experience.

Need Guidance? We’re Here to Help!

At Ryann Kristena Events, we offer a “We’re Engaged, Now What?!” consultation—a 30-minute Zoom session designed to help newly engaged couples navigate these early decisions with clarity and confidence. Whether you need guidance on setting a budget, prioritizing tasks, or simply talking through your vision, we’re here to offer expert, impartial advice.

Why Hiring a Planner Early Matters

While every couple’s planning journey looks different, hiring a wedding planner early can save you valuable time, reduce stress, and ensure no detail is overlooked. At the very least, we believe an Event Management/Day-of Coordination package is essential. The last thing you want is your bridal party or family members setting up décor instead of enjoying the day with you—or worrying about packing everything up at the end of the night. Your wedding should be a celebration, not a to-do list! We want everyone to enjoy this wonderful party you spent so much time working on!
